  • "Fed Up" Movie Viewing

Posted in Parent Resources on 2016-05-05 20:11:54

    Dear bOHP Subscribers,

This month, we would like to share a great resource that we commonly share with parents and caregivers in our clinic. The “Fed Up” movie reveals many truths about the food industry and addresses the topic of obesity and how sugary foods and drinks are contributing to an epidemic in the United States. It highlights many of the common risk factors associated with dental caries.

We are linking these movie passes that we invite you to download (click here) and share with families in your practice to increase awareness and understanding of dietary risk factors for oral health.

    Happy Spring!

Posted in Parent Resources on 2014-10-30 11:31:23

    Dear bOHP Subscribers,

Welcome to the third bOHP newsletter of the year. In this edition, we are featuring the American Academy of Pediatrics' "Brush, Book, Bed" initiative. Bedtime routines are key to healthy development in early childhood. The intersection of family routines and oral health practices can have long-term benefits for young children.  Our featured interview  with Dr. Mike Steiner, Pediatrician and Associate Professor at UNC-Chapel Hill, offers his professional views on bedtime routines and oral health.

                                                                                       Best Wishes,
                                                                                       The bOHP Team

Have a look at the American Academy of Pediatrics 2013 news release on Breastfeeding mothers and transfer of drugs and therapeutics. This publication reaffirms that the majority of medications and immunizations are safe during lactation.
